Tyler Johnson, art director
Artist, layout specialist, and shaper of excellence, Tyler is a lunchmeat skeptic, fort builder, and artistic mastermind of the agency.
Deciding to turn his natural talent into a career, Tyler earned a B.A. in Advertising and Graphic Design at St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota preparing him to be one of our all around go-to-development-of-ideas guys.
Tyler’s artistic skills began to emerge as a young tike sketching comic books on his drawing table. In his free time, he also used to create sports logos and became quite popular after winning a Trampled by Turtles t-shirt contest. It didn’t take long after finishing school for Tyler to find his home here at Out There.
Hired right out of college as Director of Graphic Design & Operations at the Duluth Art Institute, Tyler’s talent was soon recognized in the creative industry. Showing up on our radar, he was shamelessly plucked from his old job into a full-time position at Out There Advertising where he is responsible for the development of a wide range of visual creative concepts including brand identity, advertising and digital strategies.
In his free time, Tyler can be found exploring the Twin Ports with his wife Andrea, playing electric guitar, and feeding his addiction to Albanese Gummi Bears.
“In my perfect world it's mid-morning, the sun is shining, and I'm drinking coffee while working on a brand new project with endless possibilities.” ~Tyler
